“May is Math Month” is coming to an end! We’ve had a lot of fun celebrating all of the student’s successes this year! Just a reminder that tomorrow is the last day to turn in the “I Rule” slips for a prize.

We want to give a HUGE shout out to ST Math and Notch’yo Nachos for providing a pizza party to all of the students who reached 100% of their journey on ST Math! We were able to order 93 pizzas and celebrate with 421 students! All of our students have worked so hard this year and we are very proud of them! Also, a big shout out to our PTO and MTSS Interventionists for taking the time to help out with this event.

It's that time again to sign your student up for our ST Math Summer Challenge! Please see the information below for information. To sign up, please see the message that Ms. Keipert sent on Seesaw. If you have any questions, please contact her at akeipert@birchrunschools.org.

Our kindergarten teachers and students would like to say -Thank You to the Birch Run Fire Department, Officer Ott of the Birch Run Police Department, Chris Larzelere from the Frankenmuth Fudge Kitchen and Kheila Knight of Kheila's Cardio Drumming. These folks took time out of their busy schedules to present at our Kindergarten Career Day. The students enjoyed learning about each of these professions.

Birch Run Area Schools would like to thank LaFontaine Ford Birch Run for their generous support of our Teachers of the Year and Support Staff of the Year. Watch as we surprise our amazing staff members with the news!

Today is a great day to read a good book! Student Council members, the Birch Run PTO, and the Rotary Club of Birch Run unveiled the new book vending machine. Students will be able to earn tokens to get books through the PBIS program. A special thank you to these volunteer organizations for funding the books! Great job to Student Council for fundraising to purchase the machine! Heidii Periard first had the vision for the program. Her memorial contributions were used to purchase books. Her legacy will live on as she continues to spread the love of literature to children.

Farmer Randy made his annual visit to help our preschool students learn about farming. The big red tractor is always a hit. Students also received a treat of Better Made potato chips! Thank you Farmer Randy!

Despite the colder temperatures, 4th grade students recently enjoyed a visit to Hartley Outdoor Education Center. The visit was filled with hands-on outdoor learning and memorable experiences. Students learned outdoor survival skills and worked together to build shelters. The Confidence Course gave students the opportunity to problem solve and attempt completing activities within the course. After outdoor classes were done for the day students got to relax and play inside.
