Today was ice cream day in Mrs. Smith's first grade class. Students learned how to politely order ice cream, pay, and tip! Students also worked on sight word reading/spelling with ice cream scoops, made digital graphs, did some drawing, learned the science and history of ice cream and of course ate ice cream! These first graders got to make ice cream and ended their day with ice cream sandwiches!

Today we celebrated Valentine's Day and our 100th day of school! Students enjoyed sharing Valentine cards and treats. We saw a lot of very creative Valentine boxes throughout the building. Students celebrated the 100th day of school in many ways. Some students celebrated by dressing like they were 100 years old, sharing a collection of 100 items with their classmates and making crowns with 100 stickers on them.

This First Grade Crew showed up bright and early this morning to begin constructing their day! Mrs. Smith's class stayed busy learning, using construction style building materials to build words, solve math equations and measure. Students had fun using small toy equipment to play in kenetic sand. Each student designed and colored a paper hard hat. This little construction crew worked hard today in their bright orange safety vests and shiny yellow hard hats.
